Forty-seven former democratic activists are currently being prosecuted in Hong Kong for alleged national security offences. Their “crime” is to have organized a primary election for the choice of the best candidates in a vote for Hong Kong’s legislature. It is only a thoroughly undemocratic regie that would make such an activity a crime.
